To Xcp and LoneWHunt: This actually IS Sapphire from the manga. Very early in her debut saga, she wore that outfit.

To clear up any confusion, I will explain the differences and similarities between Sapphire and Haruka(May).

Pokemon Adventures (Aka Pokemon special) us the creator of Pokemon's original view on the Pokemon world, before pokemon became overly childrenized. Many of the characters in Pokemon Special are based off of the original designs for Pokemon, which were scrapped for "Better" characters. ALL of the main characters in Special are named after the colors/gems/metals that their official counterparts took place in. (For example, Satoshi/Ash is called Red)

Sapphire is the Original, and in my opinion much, much better, design for Haruka/May...apparently Nintendo did not want a Feral Child who fights alongside her Pokemon tooth and nail, in their anime.
