Nina's worst point is her very weak psyche. Her character shows some very ugly signs of PTSD, which might have originated before the story's beginning. She also displays poor impulse control and an anger problem.

The truth is that "racism" is not necessarily an evil mindset. People aren't born with hatred; they learn it as they grow up under its influence. Even Adolf Hitler didn't learn to hate the Jews from the start. His hatred of them probably stemmed from a poor upbringing or bad experiences with them.

Just because the fruit is ugly on the inside doesn't make its ugliness natural. The bad water made the plant grow that way.
