I've dreamed of a huge Pokemon game like this on console. You first start out in Kanto free-roaming, collecting badges, then you work your way to the next region after completing the Pokemon league. Yeah, a game like that can be done, but it will never happen. :(

OHH, that would be such an amazing game! It'd have to be third person because first person would be weird, and God's eye view has been done a billion times over. I want this style of Pokemon game to come out and I might not ever stop playing it until the next one came out!

Sadly Satoshi and shigeru have both said that there will never be a main series pokemon game on a console. They said that pokemon is meant to be a game where people can interact with each other and they want to keep to the name "pocket monster" where you can take your pokemon everywhere you go.
but with the graphic capabilities of the 3ds, I dont rule out future possibilities of a handheld pokemon game having these graphics.

They just have to have several disks. The first one you pick will be the region you stat out at. And after completion of said region you can pick another one to continue on.
