He's not hard to kill, with a decently fast character and light armor. Just circle around him to get his back and backstab, he's too slow. With that and the shield you should not have much trouble.

Actually, the easiest way to beat him is shit.
go defeat the big guys with the clubs until you have a good supply of dung pies. equip them and throw them at him...
He can be easily poisoned... throw shit on him and wait for him to die.
