bigb, people LOVE taking complete enemies and making them into couples for no reason. Others include Ulquiorra and Orihime (completely ignoring the psychological torture), Harry and Bellatrix (completely ignoring that she killed his godfather and is a total psychopath), and Sakura and all of Akatsuki (completely ignoring... fucking everything).

Nel does have a felling toward Nnoitra.

They weren't enemies, they were fellow Arrancar but Nnoitra as a mantis feared females cause female mantis eat males after mating.

And if Nnoitra hate female stronger than him then why do you think Nnoitra didn't say anything regarding Halibel!!
While she is stronger than him, she didn't get near him. On the other hand, Nel at least liked him and tried to protect him thus his mantis instinct and fear of female pushed him to do what he did.

Lastly, why do you think kubo made the last scene before Nnoitra's death was them looking to each other, he could've looked to Zaraki the man who killed him and standing infront of him instead of Nel which was unconscious in the background.

That's my opinion and you can look mantis behavior in wikipedia :P

I have to agree. I just watched that episode. However, I get the impression that her feelings towards him were protective rather than romantic.
