Anon7, he's not commanding Unicorns. Those are the "blood-thirsty, enraged, flesh-eating, corrupted Unicorns" in one area of the game. They are Enemies. That scene is when you choose the evil choice to burn down the forest (Like those good-evil decisions in mass-effect or those type of games).
Also, the Overlord gonna be PISS once he come back from Hell (literally) and discover what his little waifu did to his Tower (a plot in the second game). All those hours wasted grinding to buy furniture.

It's not Rose who destroyed the tower but some other guy :p
It's revealed at the end of the game. I'ts kinda weird that Gnarl always introduces Rose as the mother of the (next) Overlord. Maybe there was some smexing going on before I dumped her for her sister :/
