This is the result of taking it too easy!!
It's the revised version of my cover page for my Japanese translation of Edward Page Mitchell's [1] "The Man Without A Body". (See also my pixiv novels page [2].) What surprised me while translating the text was the secret of the birth of Yukkuris, hidden in this old 19th century novella – I never thought to find it there! How the Yukkuris first came to be? What was wrong with taking it too easy!? Read the novel [3], and you'll know why.

ゆっくりした結果がこれだよ！
小説の方に投稿したE・P・ミッチェルの『テレポンプ』の
表紙画像用として作成したイラストに、ちょっと加筆。

実は自分でも翻訳していて驚いたのですが、19世紀の昔に書かれたこの小説に、
まさかあのゆっくり誕生の秘密が隠されていたとは、思いもよりませんでした。
一体ゆっくりはどのようにして誕生したのか？ 一体ゆっくりした事の何がまずかったのか？
――それは小説の方に目を通せば、自ずと明らかになるでしょう
