You don't choose. Your dorm is chosen by the teachers.

If the teachers like you, you go to the fancy Obelisk dorm.
If the teachers are indifferent, you go to the rather average Ra drom.
If the teachers hate you, you go to the crap-ass Slifer dorm.

Aki will realize that Slifer dorm is the best. They always seem to get the more interesting duel opponents, more screen time and nicer cards. Even people from other dorms end up dropping by or moving into slifer.
