Kojima: So I decided after Metal Gear Solid to abandon any solid, compelling storytelling and just insert as many stupid characters and melodrama as possible and give really unsatisfying explanations for everything. In closing, nanomachines.

Many people don't understand that Kojima wanted to quit after metal gear solid 2 but fans wanted more... Some fucktards even threatened him for not making more. blame those so called "fans" for forcing kojima to work on mgs even though he didn't want to. It looks like Kojima found new inspiration through MGSV. And i really hope that will be the last one to end this series.

Me too anon. At some point the series has to come to a close. When is enough enough? While it will be tough for me to accept as a passionate fan,I can understand that Kojima-sama wants to move on from this series. It's too bad that Konami won't let that happen.

Frankly Guns of The Patriots is when the series should have been done since everything had been settled.

Considering how polarizing Sons Of Liberty was and many "fans" throwing a hissy fit over Raiden, calling him every derogatory anti-homosexual slur under the sun that would have been a bad move.

So Kojima got to experience what Anno was put through with Neon Genesis Evangelion. That sucks.

To be honest I would like to see Kojima focus on other things, as he has stated that he wants to revisit both the Snatcher and Zone of the Enders franchise. But I hope Kojima Productions will follow his wishes and at least attempt to continue the seriese without him.
Also, Yes Anon 3, yes indeed.

Anon 3, your an idiot. Nothing is resolved in MGS4 as the only way it could possibly work is if every single character throughout the franchise had been lying their asses off about everything to everyone for no reason whatsoever. Things such the Sears Project being based off of Big Boss' actions in Outer Heaven or the fact that Big Boss went to such great lengths to ruin Solid Snake's life in Metal Gear 2 no longer make any sense at all leaving a bunch of unanswerable questions that leave a gaping hole in the hearts of long term fans.

Ether101,hopefully MGS5 can fix all of this gaping holes. I haven't played MGS4 myself so I can only going by what I have read on the wikia.

The events of MG1 and MG2 are pretty much null and void thanks to the Big Boss prequel games.
