Not really. A straight-edged sword of that particular kind isn't meant to hack. It's meant to slice. So it's only painful if you grind against it, because it's that motion--as with table knives, though on a much larger scale--that actually cuts. So as sharp as the edge is, if you're only touching it and there's no motion along the edge, and you're not pushing at it, there shouldn't be any injury.
You know. Unless there's a monofilament edge, or something.
