This is exactly how I imagine Russia took Germany; Tokarev in one hand, bottle of vodka in the other, at the helm of an easily mass-produced,-yet-well-designed piece of armor...

...though, this could be a KV series tank, instead of a T34...

? Tokarevs are smaller than the M1911 or the Beretta 92.
Also, if you look at the famous picture of the political officer leading the charge, it's spot on.

You're probably thinking of the Nagant M1895, which is on the large side.

They're not mutually exclusive. The Soviet Union produced 80% ABV vodka during the Great Patriotic War which, among other uses, served as fuel in some Molotov cocktails.
