The woman's name is Shina Swallowmane. She only ever was given a name, in a drama CD that was created after Star Ocean: The Second Story. The drama CD was only released in Japan, in limited quantity. Her beef with Ashton, is that Shina believed Ashton himself, to be a demon and she's a demon hunter. Her sword, is actually a demon itself, named Blurtgang. Blurtgang, has a symbiotic relationship with Shina, and is aiding in her occupation. Shina, eventually develops a respect for Ashton, after he saves her from falling from a near fatal plummet, after her repeated failed attempts to slay him, that ended in a draw via interruptions every previous attempt. Finding said drama CD nowadays, would be almost impossible. I was lucky to get one, during a trip to Japan way back in 2000. As for Shina's species, she's a Highlander, not a Fellpool. How she was on Expel, was never revealed.
