2.it actually is incest, as monty oum has said they are related and neither is adopted..they're related by blood. One of them is using a fake name and I think it's Yang.

actually before the series even aired, Monty Oum pointed out that they are NOT related. Plus Ruby is likely adopted into Yangs family, and my reasoning is this:
Red Like Roses Part II IS officially part of Ruby's theme. It is a song with one character singing about how they are thrown into chaos by the untimely death of someone else, the other character is singing back about how they don't want her to break-down or follow them to death.
SO... I theorize Ruby's parents are dead, Yang's family took her in because of how close the girls were as children and have raised them as sisters. The reason she doesn't seem so traumatized is that it probably happened long enough ago that she has come to terms with it.
