Law of Inherent Combustibility- Everything explodes. Everything.

There also seems to be a bit of -
Law of Uninterruptable Metamorphosis- Regardless of how long or involved the
transformation sequence or how many times they’ve seen it before, any "Bad Guys"
witnessing a mecha/hero/heroine transforming are too stunned to do anything to
interrupt it.

Also, it's anime. Stop worrying about it and questioning things and just enjoy the ride. You aren't watching it for realism or for logical things unless it's an anime specifically made to cater to those, which Kill La Kill is not.
