Now that I know they gave the Genome Soldiers the Famas because it's boxy shape made it easier to put it into the original MGS due to the graphical limitations of the PS1, I'm surprised they didn't give Sniper Wolf a Walther WA 2000 instead of a PSG1, since it's bullpup design makes the Walther a very boxy shaped and compact sniper rifle. And both snipers were made in response to the horrible terrorist attack of the Munich Massacre during the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics.
