Who else noticed this? After he... erases his head from existence (seriously, there's not even a neck there!) as his body is stumbling around for a split second you can see the model for his head flash back into existence then immediately disappear again.

Indeed. And combining it with pyro princess's youtube link, i'd say it's his head regrowing. It does so by restructuring itself right after the original head dies (which it does instantly in this gif, but not in the youtube link).

Near perfect immortality given to an insane sociopath, that's a scary combinasion in my book...
