i heard that capcom intended that darkstalkers resurrection would be the gauge to tell if people would really want a new darkstalker game.
not enough sales.

And they didn't even advertise it and it did amazingly well for something not advertised, being in the top 10 downloads that year for both Playstation 3 and XBox 360.
