I am not, in principle, opposed to striped underwear. For many pancake-ass girls the optical illusion provided by the horizontal lines will bring them the closest to bootylicious they can ever hope to achieve.

However, when it seems as though white-and-pastel stripes are the only colors of underwear that teenage anime protagonists will choose to wear, it starts to get old.

japanese like structure and "uniforms", and striped underwear has sort of become the unofficial "uniform" of scantily clad, innocent, young girls in anime / hentai.
