I didn't finish FFX (out of apathy) or FFXII (out of despair of ever finishing most of the subquests), but FFXIII is the first numbered entry in the series that I abandoned only a few hours in. Bad enough to drop all hub areas and opportunities to explore off the beaten path (thus giving us zero sense of discovery or wonder), but to do it in service of a run-of-the-mill storyline and characters ranging from insipid to irritating...never has the phrase "losing the plot" been so apt

Well then you didn't play Lightning Returns, that game has tons of side things to do and discover, the story is hard to follow but the game itself is very fun to play. There is a time limit but if you use EP right you can stop it completely and explore the game at your own leisure.

Honestly nowadays it is VERY DIFFICULT for a game to come with an original plot

For me I'd prefer something with good gameplay, good music, good graphics

I mean like say a game has an awesome story, kay, but everything else bout it sucks? Nope don't see the point
