Many modern "feminists" use the word feminism but really just want to push men (white ones, especially) down a flight of stairs. Many of them are also very neo-puritan in mindset and would hop right on the ban train along with those super christians you speak of.
Feminism isn't really needed anymore in modern societies. It needs to branch out and reach parts of the world where women actually are treated poorly.
What we really need is equalism. An ism that isn't bound to a gender or that can be taken over by people who just want to put the "other side" down. An ism that can speak for any gender, race, sexuality, anything. A true equality.
