I always thought Goku, that little boy who once didn't know difference between men and women, marrying and becoming father was one of most unexpected things ever.

And even more, Vegeta who was main villain of the Saiyan saga, marrying main Dragon Ball girl Bulma, and also having children with her.

But Mai ending up loli, and becoming kid Trunks' love interest was bigger than the universe "totally didn't expect that".
