Well, back when we cared about animation enough for intros, outros, and commercial break transitions at least.
Watch some Transformers G1/Gundam 0080/Angel Cop/Bubblegum Crisis sometimes. Like, the entire episode. Except for Angel Cop, while they're still classics it should break anyone but hardcore nostalgia mutants of that delusion.
