This reminds me of when I was little and I attempted to dig my way to "Space Jam". Because in the movie, the Looney Tunes world was accessed through a hole in the ground. Therefore, one could dig to it.

You'd get maybe 5% in and then it gets too hot to go any further. Digging magma that's always in motion and under incredible pressure is also quite impossible.
