Anon, when wasn't that clear in the first place? It's the simplest and most efficient way to not have censorship and still display the body. It's a thing that's starting to get grip in JP right now.

It's a means to an end but here they integrated it in to the plot. These aren't humans like us. It's a parallel universe.

The "Nazi won" thing was a dead give away. It serves no purpose whatsoever in this story other than to establish that this is a parallel existance where somethings like breathing in space, blood fuels rockets, Ira's size change and the general madness is possible.

Had that point served any other purpose then we would of had seen a lot of Nazi like uniforms a very rigid social structure etc. Yet we have hackers, telecommunication, general freedom and no mentions of other Nazi related -ses or +ses.

The writers behind this show are a thing of genius if you ask me. With 2 words they gave themselves a white canvas to play with and none of the repercussions.
