I always thought that brotherhood was a bit too silly at times. For instance the scene where Ed gets his arm refitted, in the original its looks like a horrifically painful thing but in brotherhood its just brushed off as a gag like this.

I think Brotherhood is the better one, but I didn't care for the jokes either. Even if original isn't fully following manga, I think it did a better job in some cases.

The first anmie had to run when the manga was like 2/3 so at sme point they had to fill the story. I think that they did a good job, Brotherhood had all of hte manga.
