The curve of the ocarina would not EVER rise above the curve of her fingers, meaning that what we see after those 4 fingers are in fact more fingers.

No, Saria is not "in fact' a mutant, that's stupid.

The artist was not painting your sweet potato ocarina, so the idea that the ocarina in the painting has to conform to yours is nonsense.

You could just as easily say "Just pointing out, I have 5 fingers per hand. You would NEVER have a 6th finger, meaning that what we see after those 4 fingers is in fact the ocarina" and it'd be just as valid.

Either the artist doesn't know a person has 5 fingers or they just didn't paint an ocarina to your exact standards. The latter is very very obviously more likely.

The linework is a little messy, but it's insanely stupid to keep insisting she has 6 fingers.
