Well, there's something you don't see everyday... This is an Australian SMG, the Owen Gun.

Though a somewhat crude weapon, in the same manner as the British Sten, it was supposedly very popular due to excellent reliability. It reportedly service throughout WWII, Kora, Vietnam, and several other actions, in some capacity.
