The long upper deck and lack of winglets mark this as a 747-300. Boeing marketed it as an inexpensive design for high-capacity short flights and several Japanese airlines bought them for domestic use, but no U.S. carrier ever purchased it, as they preferred to use smaller-capacity jets for domestic routes and were more interested in the longer-range -400 model.
