Actually they did. The artist drew the lineart. Someone colored it this way.

I'm assuming by "artist" he meant jonxtu, who is the author of two colorized variations of the same lineart-image provided by legoman (who rarely-if ever-colorizes his own work). So what he said wasn't false.
