I'm not sure what made you think it played like Mario Party but it's more along the lines of Dynasty Warriors if anything. Estival is the sequel to Shinovi.

Well, with the way this picture is and the fact that we had a rhythm game in this series, plus how it almost says 'festival' in the title, who would've thought of some sort of mini game themed addition to this series?

This picture is a screenshot for the 30 minute OVA you get for pre-ordering the PS4 special edition. If you look at the trailers, Estival Versus plays exactly like it's first game, Shinovi Versus. The rhythm game was a spin-off and not related to the other games.
