Nintendo doesn't own this franchise. A company named "Treasure" developed this game, and they are notorious for being extremely innovative and coming up with great gameplay ideas, as well as known for *never* making any sequels to any of their games; as much as I love Marina, I doubt we'll ever see a sequel. =(
