The world in which Naruto is taking place has been detailed enough to classify it as relatively explored, and still there remains an air of many mysteries and potential intrigue and action and diversities of jutsus and plots and whatnot. I'd say that the fundamental needs for a continuation, at least through the next generation, is very much present. It would be a enormous waste if that potential was not tapped.
