The Naruto "Franchise" is one of those titles that will forever make money just like the Dragon Ball "franchise".
No matter what people say, negative or positive, Kishimoto will make big money for years and years off of Naruto Nationally ( as in Japan Nationally) and Internationally ( for all the Narutards outside Japan).
