Princess Peach is Shigeru Miyamoto's original character. Every character has an "origin", and was original when they were created.

Once a character is readily recognizable, or is associated with a for-profit product or service, I don't know if "original" still qualifies.

In short, Anon1 didn't deserve the downvote. If you recognize a character enough to list their name in the tags, they're ubiquitous, and an "original" tag is no longer necessary.
