It took me over 1000 eggs to hatch mine. From her reaction I can tell she had a lot more luck than I did.

Out of curiosity, how do people even keep count of how many times they've hatched/soft reset until they got a shiny?

I see YouTube video titles like "Shiny Wynaut after only 1833 hatches" or "Shiny Rayquaza after only 3984 soft resets." Not only are those numbers a little too big to be considered "only," but keeping track of a count like that must require an absurd amount of patience. That's what I'd put, "after an absurd amount patience"

Most of my shinys are dumb luck.

^ I don't care enough to bother with shiny hunting, really, but if I did, I'd probably keep a tally either on paper or digitally. One mark for every hatch or reset.

That's the easiest way I can think of, personally.

It took me about 2 weeks to hatch mine. I didnt keep track of how many i hatched but i hatched 2 male shiny ralts before i got a female shiny. I i figured i had gone this long, may aswell keep trying until its perfect. Hatching a shiny honedge wasnt as much hassle but hatching a shiny froakie only took 2 days because of sheer luck.
