I hate that they randomly decided to change her name to "Cindy" in the West.
That just tosses the whole "She's a female Cid" thing out of the window.

Her father is the Cid of XV, not her.

And whether or not her name was Cidney in Japan before it was Cindy in the U.S. is completely irrelevant because they are BOTH official versions of the game, effectively making both names official. I just see no goddamn point in referring to her as Cidney when you clearly don't live in Japan.
