Actually an earlier experimental model somewhere before the MP-44/STG-44, something along the lines of Mk42b or some such...but, hey, close enough.

There were supposedly a lot of examples of the MP-44/STG-44 encountered during the Battle of the Bulge...

I actually had to correct a history teacher before; she had the Battle of Britain and the Battle of the Bulge mixed up...

STG44 is the parent of AK47...
AK47s are based on captured German STG44s.

And the Mkb42(H) is the parent of the STG/MP44, hence the first guy's comment.

You can tell an STG/MP-44 from an experimental model by the tube above the barrel, that being the single most obvious visual difference.
