Ubuntu users, do this:
1.Copy Image and "Paste as New Image" in GIMP.
2.Use magic wand tool to remove the white background, so it will be transparent. Optionally, remove the text.
3.Save as png.
4.Go to Preferences>Main Menu, select Firefox under "Internet" and click "Properties".
5.Click the icon box, then "Browse..." to the folder where you saved the picture and "Open"; miniatures of the images on that folder will show up, choose the one you saved.

Close whatever windows you opened while doing this and you're back where you started, only difference being that Firefox now has this for an icon.

If you don't care about having a white square around the icon, you can omit the editing part and just save this and use the jpg.
