Ideas are cheap. Art is not.

GOOD ideas can get an artist to do a job for free, but those usually come from folks that are also putting a lot of effort and creativity into something (like a really great fan-fic).

Most folks are not creative. They are just puppy-mills that see some other work, retool it in their mind, and regurgitate it. All of their ideas could just as easily been spat out by a random number generator and a flow chart. Their ideas sound like the game of clue...

@1722930 - Even worse when the artist tells them 'no', yet are continually pestered about it.

I had a user on an art site prod me about doing something regarding their thing for 'Yoshi'...even tho' I had never done anything even remotely related to that character, nor was I taking any requests. They finally dropped it after the umpteenth time of me saying 'no'.

I feel Doc's pain....
