Yuuichi is not a dick. He's a cynic due to his childhood life. And he proves several times that under his cynicism he is actually quite a caring person.

When Risa asked Yuuichi if he could find someone she could whore herself off to to get the money to save Silvie, he was kindhearted and "bought" it himself, going to the bank, withdrawing 6 million(?) yen, personally went down there himself, and basically screwed over that lady who had been mistreating the dog so hard.
That's pretty kind.
Also, Yuuichi doesn't seem like he cares about sex much (He said something about how he only masturbates once every two weeks because otherwise his penis will lose function) yet he still helped everyone when they were going through heat. I mean, later on he started doing it more for pleasure (the medication), but it's still pretty nice for someone who really doesn't care all that much from sex. He never really did anything to hurt anyone. He's a kind guy.
And yes, I just defended a guy from a pornographic visual novel.
