@Evilmoon no it is just a trend in all animes that have shota's and really hot older women for them to be submissive and shy. It can come off as gay to others, but really it's just a trend passed from anime to anime. They do eventually go for it, sometimes or even never, the only time it would be gay is if referanced in homosexuality or "hinting it" but I can't see why a boy who has an awesome robot and a girl in a bikini and shorts all the time would be gay.
