Maybe, but without it, Akatsuki would have grown differently too. Probably to the point of successfully capturing all 9 bijuus before any nation would realize the threat. Hence, bye bye naruto, and with the following awakening of Kaguya, bye bye Sasuke as well.
Sometimes, what seems to be a brighter timeline has a darker future. That's the whole problem with tampering with events in time.
