That's his actual full name. They stripped the second u in the official English translations because to English speakers, double vowels are redundant.

I really like this redesign. Goku looks a lot better, specifically. Akira Toriyama is a great artist and writer, but he has that problem of "same face" where all his characters kind of wind up looking the same. That's part of his distinctive style, but having more clear differences in facial structure, some non-formulaic design, really makes them look more like PEOPLE. And of course, the Buuwaifu is simultaneously creepy and super cute of course. <3

Piccolo is still a badass.

I liked the Disney-ish Western Aspects that Toriyama went with. Since a Disney Work were his Inspiration to start drawing in the first Place.
