The barbs on a cat penis are not painful. They are similar to a soft bristle on a toothbrush. They exist to excite the female to ovulate during intercourse, to pull out semen from any other males, as well keeping fully inserted during ejaculation. Cat penis gets a bad rap, but it's pretty superior to all other penis as far as efficiency goes.
