Not quite. Per tagging policy, newhalf is a character with a female body and only male genitalia. Futanari is a character with both male and female genitilia.

Futanari is the japanese word for hermaphrodite, which is something that has both a penis and vagina. Newhalf is japanese slang for pre op trans women. Poison is a newhalf, not futanari, although most sites just use futanari for everything involving a woman with a penis.

Not quite #1743561. Hermaphrodite is 雌雄同体 (shiyuu doutai), literally meaning "feminine masculine equal 'related to reality of (male and female) bodies'". Futanari means having both female and male genitalia and is a broader category than hermaphrodite, which is a subcategory of futanari. Basically with futas, if there is a dick and pussy, it's a futa. Hermaphrodite uses gametes to define itself (just like female and male does). Futa can be female or male, since definition of male or female do not rely on genitalia. So futa stuff can be yuri or yaoi for example. But on this site, they treat futa and hermaphrodite equal and use biological definition of hermaphrodite to treat futa as such with visual evidence, relating dick = male and pussy = female. Why? Because it seems easier and avoids few problems that may rise when deciding is this character a female or a hermaphrodite. But I believe the main reason is that most people don't want yuri with "chicks-with-dicks."
