Well, first off, she appears to be content with being a housewife judging by what little we've seen so far. Second, she wasn't really into the whole ninja business enough to want to stay in it, she's much to kind and gentle. Thirdly, she takes great enjoyment in cooking, not to mention is apparently excellent at it to boot. And lastly, someone had to stay with the kids while the significant other does his part in bringing in the cash, as well as leading the entire village, not just their household.

It was the right call, all-round, by Hinata and Naruto to have it this way in my opinion.
