I just have to wonder how the conversation went down when Nintendo thought Kozaki would be the official artwork director of the new Fire Emblem movement.

Well if I were to ever make a post-apocalyptic, 1st-person survival game, I'd totally have Ishikei be my character designer. Hell, I could even add in a dlc where you can attack people by fucking them.

eh, wouldn't be the first time FE had an artist known for erotica. FE 11 had character designs by Masamune Shirow after all. Awakening just opened a floodgate as some of the DLC characters got redesigns by hentai artists.

I'll be honest though, Kozaki has done a damn fine job with character designs. I honestly hope he becomes a regular now. The seinen style really suits the series. Much better than the semi realistic style they tried with the DS games.

Not just "got their start." Pretty much the norm to dip in and out it seems.
Masamune for sure, and don't forget Raita's work on Valkyria Chronicles.
