I absolutely love and adore Illya, but I vastly prefer her normal magical-girl outfit. Her normal outfit is far more innocent, and makes her look vaguely like a moth or a fairy.

There's a figure of her in this outfit ("beast version"), but I'd feel awkward having it on a shelf. I'd want a version with a full-cloth front, instead of open.

Not sure why in anime fan service means to defile the one you're a fan of, but alas, that it does. I like it when fan service is separated from canon material/normal episodes like this though (in non-ecchi anime).
