It's a webm.
Believe it or not, Gif's are the opposite of efficient when displaying anything above 250x250 pixels and a large amount of frames.

Instead of making 50gb gifs, they convert the gif to a video file and play it as a video. This lowers the disk space and gives better playback. Also you can use sound with a webm player.
