There's a bit of other kind of history behind Takano's quiz, too... Earlier in the storyline of Higurashi, Satoko is diagnozed with the Hinamizawa syndrome and she has it bad. She's pretty paranoid and borderline-psychotic to the point, where she starts hearing exta footsteps behind her and suspects her parents of plotting against her. To scope and examine the child's state of mind during other medical examinations, Takano had her answer some questions.

I'm usually one to defend Miyo as worthy of sympathy, but here, she's just being mean.
Karen Strassman got robbed of reprising her role as Miyo for that season, though. Say what you want about the so-so dub of season one, Strassman *rocked* Miyo. They even look a bit alike, enough that she could totally play her in a live role.
For what it's worth, I don't think it's stated that Satoko's colorblind, because even with full colorblindness that explanation doesn't really make sense (even the monochrome shades would look completely different). Miyo implies she'll spare her if she gets it right this once, but she shoots the poor girl in the face, anyway. That's just mean, Miyo.
